Elaf Selim is an artist of softness and light, an alchemist of dreams who paints the quiet language of the soul. Her work often explores a dream-like meditation; feminine figures, gardens, delicate symbols, and soft light.

Utilizing many mediums to create her world on canvas, Elaf makes her own paper from petals and plants gathered in her garden, and explores fluid mediums, oils, and pastels to create surfaces that glow.

Working from her home studio, in Ottawa, Ontario, surrounded by her garden, Elaf creates art with a singular intention: to offer a resting place, an intimate sanctuary of peace for those who collect and live with her work. Her paintings are exhibited across Canada, in shows that celebrate contemporary romanticism, beauty, and the power of serenity.
