For the Love of SEAnery by Jenn Thornhill Verma features oil-on-canvas landscapes of outport and coastal communities in all of their perfectly imperfect glory – clapboard saltbox houses, hand-made wooden dories and skiffs, crooked wharves and docks, broken and bent fishing stages and sheds and stunted trees and rocks. Jenn is a proud Newfoundlander descended from a long line of fishers – settlers who voyaged from England to Newfoundland and Labrador for the promise of plentiful cod. For more than a decade, she has called Ottawa, Ontario home. Her artwork is featured on the cover of her first book, Cod Collapse: The Rise and Fall of Newfoundland’s Saltwater Cowboys (now available).
