Michelle Reid is a contemporary artist living and working in Kingston, Ontario. Drawn to contrasting light and shadow, vanishing viewpoints, bright and plentiful colour, and “the golden hour” of sunlight, Michelle finds inspiration in both nature and city. Painting deep forests, rushing rivers, or busy street corners, Michelle brings the same sense of beauty to whatever her subject may be, with a highlight on the sun peaking through.

Michelle paints both in her Kingston studio and outdoors, en plein air. Being outdoors brings her a sense of grounding, connecting with nature, architecture and community. Michelle collects photos on forest hikes and walks down the main street, looking for that glow “the golden hour” casts on her favourite places.
